Summer 2020 people

Real estate was h-o-t this summer. Inventory was down almost 40% from last year, interest rates were at historic lows and out of area buyers swooped on Sacramento. Multiple offers over list price were the norm.

I had a front-row seat to the madness. My summer listings were in some of northern California’s most desirable areas – Sierra Oaks, College Greens, Rocklin, 55+ communities and West Sacramento. Even better, most of them were in the pricing sweet spot between $400,000 and $600,000. Like many in the real estate industry, I worked 12-hour days to ensure my clients received the top-shelf service they deserve.

As I reflect on the summer of 2020, I see people, not trends. I see fair-minded sellers. I see sweet buyers and their friendly agents. I see my terrific escrow team at CornerStone Title. I see honorable lenders and meticulous home inspectors. I see painters and handymen, roof guys and arborists, landscapers and housecleaners. That these terrific people infused my life with industry and purpose when so many are isolated is a blessing.

It was people who made my 2020 summer: their dignity in the midst of uncertainty is something I will never, ever, forget.
